Only t...Sounds like a very accurate summary to me!

Only thing I'd add (as an iOS6 user still on a 4s) is that Apple's Maps have repeatedly let me down in the area of quickly locating a specific point of interest.

One of my favorite uses for Maps was always letting it find my current location first, and then doing a search for a place I wanted to go, to find out where the closest one was.

I've noticed that on the old Google Maps, searches like this almost immediately popped up my results with pins on the map. Now, I get a lot more lag as the map downloads enough detail to be able to determine if my POI exists in the vicinity. If it hasn't downloaded all the information yet, it will return no results for my search. Yet if I scroll around the map with my finger, forcing it to draw in the details for the parts I'm viewing, THEN it may be successful on the same POI search that failed a minute earlier, because it finally realizes the POI really doe exist there.

I wonder if the iPhone 5 has less of a problem with this than the 4s does, simply because I'm still on a 3G network vs. an LTE network? But even on wi-fi, I've experienced some of this.
kingtjnoreply@blogger.com
